My husband told me to call the vet for an appointment for Buddy tomorrow morning, "first
thing". (Ohhhh, awesome I thought - but did not speak).
Instead I kissed my hubby and said "what a good daddy you are", "I will make an
appointment for the rest of our brood too, since we get a discount for all the hairballs
together (which stinks) rather than just one at a time".
I froze in my tracks as hubby's face went "sour" in one instant and he then asked me
if I glued all the other cats to "something" in the house.
I knew he was joking (hopefully) and told hubby that Dozer needs a teeth cleaning and
more blood work for his meds he is on (for a three month supply runs $60) and of course
the rest need their shots and check ups too. As I tried to smile so sweetly while looking so
adoringly into my husband's eyes ----- hubby said "they can wait", you glued my cat to the
rug and then "sheared him like a sheep". "I want him checked to make sure he didn't get
any blood poisoning from that glue".
WHAT? I thought I would have a stroke and a hairball at the same time, which would pay
him back, just to pick up a freaking hairball for the first time in his life. As I took two steps
back to grab a crucifix to protect my other cats from him... hubby gave me a look of "MY
WIFE IS NUTS" and turned away mumbling "you never listen to me anyway -- why do I
even try?"
Made the appointment with the vet who took blood tests, etc, and we all went back home.
Two weeks later the results came back, Buddy Bee was fine, however, the blood work for
Dozer came back very bad. I just cried and immediately took Dozer back for more tests.
They did a sonogram of his belly which showed possible cancer in two areas, then I had to
take him back in for a scope to go up his cute tush to take three biopsy samples from the
affected areas.
Weeks of tests and a lot of money later, Dozer's tests came back positive. He is on
medication to help him now, but I just can't put him down until he is in pain. I cried every
day for my precious Dozer and after a few weeks contacted a faith healer who works with
animals.
Well, I called and made the appointment and she prayed and laid hands on my baby, I
prayed so hard and cried my eyes out too.. Praying and laying of hands is new to me with
animals, but then again, it if works for people, what is the difference for animals?
I brought my baby home and within two weeks, there is a remarkable difference in him.
Dozer has gained weight, he now seems to be like his old self again -- it is truly
remarkable. I am taking him back next week for another spiritual healing treatment and
when I took Dozer to the vet this week for his weigh in they couldn't believe the difference
in him. They wanted to test him again, but I won't allow them to put him through all of that
and after $2000 plus for all his previous tests, they must think I am brain dead!
My Dozer is eating like a horse, playing, sleeping again with me, grooming himself, and
dragging his toys in bed during the night and dropping them in my face to wake me up for
a "scratch and kiss" (which I don't mind doing at all). I will keep you all informed about my
"miracle" Dozer.
By the way, any donations for Dozer and other animals in need will be greatly appreciated.
